Murals

Surface Festival, miami GC

Invited to paint as part of a 7 artist collective space for Surface Festival, this work is called 'Let your wild light shine'. It is a reminder to the viewer that we all need to embrace our innate nature, let it out, trust it. The birds featured are local Gold Coast birds, some easily recognisable, some critically endangered and not so obvious, just like those traits we have and also hide.

Pomona State School

Showcasing local wildlife and plantlife of the Noosa region, this school mural also included an educational booklet created in conjunction with local artist and environment guru, Madeleine Cleland. Featuring a flying fox, a jumping spider, birds and native bees, this mural involved the school students in daily class visits and question and learning time. This project was funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund, Noosa Council and QLD Government.

IGA Pomona

In July 2022, the wall of the IGA building in Pomona was given a bright update. The artwork was inspired by the community and each element represents different parts of Pomona as interpreted by This Bird. These include The Goddess Pomona; fruit doves and fruit representing the abundance of our area and the IGA's committment to local produce and products; passion flowers for the passion of the town; native QLD bees because they're essential to our local environment and food crops; and a hive pattern for the community spirit and the way Pomona works together.
